Tilt-up Structures
Tilt-up construction is a durable, timely, and money efficient way of building for educational buildings. With a growing population in British Columbia, Canada, there is a tremendous need for new or renovated facilities completed on a tight schedule. But, beyond space issues there also is a growing concern about indoor air quality, sustainability, mold and a tighter building envelope. The speed of tilt-up allows for earlier occupancy and reduces overall construction time and costs. And, much of the construction is done at ground level, eliminating vertical forming and scaffolding, which reduces construction costs as well as meaning a safer work environment. The Tilt-up method has delivered warehouses in as little as 4 months. Additionally, Tilt-up will extend the longevity of the building, what makes it cost-efficiently on long-term.
The combination of the thermal mass properties of concrete, higher energy-efficiency insulation systems and reduced air-infiltration allow Tilt-up to be an optimum energy-efficient solution in addition to a growing architectural solution. The large, solid concrete panels also add to the energy efficiency of a Tilt-up structure since the panel size reduces infiltration or air leakage into and out of the building. Air infiltration is a large source of heat loss. A Tilt-up structure can save up to 35% on energy efficiency compared to traditional building methods.

Highlands Master Builders carries a 5 million dollar general liability policy, and complete coverage by WCB. We also offer additional course of construction insurance to our clients at discounted rates through our partner, Federated Insurance.
Yes. All Highlands Master Builders projects are protected by a 2 year warranty on all labour and materials. In some cases, materials may be warranted by the manufacturer for up to 25 years. We also offer extended warranties and extended service contracts to ensure your project looks great well into the future.
These terms are broken down in the contract based on progress with a completion date included. Once the work is completed to a pre-determined point, a pre-determined payment is made, with final payment due upon completion.
