The successful candidate(s) MUST be a qualified Architectural Designer and have at least 3-5 years of full-time experience working in residential or commercial projects along with ALL the tools and equipment necessary to complete the jobs required of them. The successful candidate(s) MUST be able to:

  • Read and understand construction plans and blueprints
  • Know and understand the BC Building Code practices
  • Be familiar with building envelope assemblies
  • Be familiar with fire code and wall assemblies
  • Complete various design tasks as directed
  • Troubleshoot any issues to complete project in a timely manner
  • Have own vehicle and laptop computer
  • Communicate regularly and effectively with Project Manager, Engineer, and clients.
  • Communicate and coordinate effectively with other team members and trades
  • Work well independently and on a team

EXPERIENCE WITH REVIT AND AUTOCAD ARE MANDATORY

EXPERIENCE WITH NSCAPE AND SKETCHUP IS A BONUS

Our growing team is looking for experienced carpenters with excellent project management and leadership capabilities. Highlands Master Builders is a fun company that deals in exciting projects. The successful candidate(s) MUST be a qualified Carpenter and have at least 3-5 years of full-time experience working in residential/commercial/multi-family construction along with ALL the tools and equipment necessary to complete the jobs required of them. The successful candidate(s) MUST be able to:

  • Read and understand construction plans and blueprints
  • Know and understand the BC Building Code practices
  • Be familiar with building envelope assemblies
  • Be familiar with fire code and wall assemblies
  • Complete various construction tasks as directed
  • Troubleshoot any issues onsite to complete project in a timely manner
  • Have own vehicle and tools (complete and professional took kit required)
  • Communicate regularly and effectively with Project Manager, Foreman, and Coordinating Professionals.
  • Communicate and coordinate effectively with other team members and subtrades
  • Work well independently and on a team
  • Understand the importance of the construction schedule and budget and be able to manage it

Responsibilities and Duties

Responsibilities will include:

  • Carpentry duties as required
  • Assist superintendent in daily running of the project and providing instruction to apprentices
  • Organize day to day activities in a sub-section of the project as delegated by the foreman
  • Manage small projects independently

Qualifications and personal attributes:

  • Excellent organizational and problem solving skills
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Energetic, ambitious team player
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Personable and approachable
  • Works well with others under pressure
  • Ability and confidence to work independently
  • Familiar with WCB regulations and able to implement best safety practices
  • First aid qualifications an advantage
  • Retail construction and finishing experience preferred

Qualifications and Skills

  • Red Seal or Journey – Level expertise an asset
  • Proficient in all aspects of new construction and renovations
  • GVHBA / CHBA courses an asset
  • Project Management skills / training an asset
